"The Cave" is inspired by ancient cave paintings from around the globe. The shadowy figures and zoomorphic humanoid forms call to my imagination’s desire to create narratives. What did those people really see? Is it the case of Plato’s “Parable of the Cave”, where the society was simply watching the “shadows on the wall” as opposed to the reality creating the shadows? It’s impossible to say. What is possible to deduce is that ancient peoples around the world had these encounters in common, and they were significant events, intended to be memorialized for generations. It’s my current task to put myself in their “cave”, and observe who / what comes for a visit.       Fiber Art Textile Art Quilting Felting
